Changes in Selling Process from Baazee to eBay

Changes in the SYI FORM

On Baazee - a 2 step process

1st Page

  • Listing Format - Auction, But it Now, Buy it Now Auctions and Classifieds
  • Select a category

2nd Page

  • All details of the product and the listing

On eBay

The item details have to be entered on successive pages.

1st Page

  • Listing Format - Auction, Buy it Now and Classifieds
  • Buy it Now here is only Fixed Price. Buy It Now Auction is under Auction

2nd Page

  • Category and sub category
  • Secondary category (chargeable)

3rd Page

  • Item Title
  • Sub-title (Chargeable)
  • NA on Baazee
  • Item Specifics - New and Used
  • Equivalent to Condition on Baazee (New, Secondhand & Refurbished)
  • Item Description
4th Page
  • Starting Price and Reserve Price
  • Buy it Now Price
  • Duration of Listing - 3,5,7 and 10 days (10 days is chargeable)
  • Schedule Time (Chargeable)
  • Quantity. Can be selected only if user has 10 ratings and is a member on site since last 14 days
  • Item Location - User can choose the item - Field not available in Baazee. Seller's registration location taken as default location
  • Pictures - 3 pictures are free. All additional pictures are chargeable
  • Picture Option - Standard and Supersize. Supersize is chargeable. - These options were not available on Baazee
  • Picture Option - Picture Pack. Chargeable feature where the user gets the option to upload more pictures in packs of either 6 or from 7 to 12 images. The user gets Gallery, Supersize and Picture Show free with this option. - Not available on Baazee
  • Listing Designer - A free feature by which the user can select a theme and a layout for the description - Not available on Baazee
  • Gallery options - Gallery View (Free) and Gallery Featured (Chargeable) - Gallery View is NOT checked by default, like on Baazee. Please check it so that your image gets displayed with your listing on the Search Results / Listings Page
  • Bold Feature (Chargeable) - Attract buyers attention and sets the listing apart in search results - Not available on Baazee
  • Border Feature (Chargeable) - Outlines the listings with an eye-catching frame - Not available on Baazee
  • Highlight (Chargeable) - Makes the listing stand out with a colored band in search results - Available on Baazee. However, this will not make the listing Bold, like it did on Baazee
  • Featured Plus (Chargeable) - Listings appear higher in search results and on item pages in listing view. Feedback requirement to use it is 10. - Available on Baazee with same feedback requirement
  • Home Page Featured (Chargeable) - Listing is promoted in the Home Page. Feedback requirement to use it is 10. - Available on Baazee with same feedback requirement

5th Page

  • Payment options available - DD, Cheque, COD, Cash on Pickup and Other. User can select any of the above from the SYI page - On Baazee, a one time payment preferences set up had to be done (could be updated)
  • Ship to locations - Options available 1. Worldwide delivery 2. Domestic delivery (Shipping within India) 3. Local pick up only - Baazee - shipping options had to be created and the options available was "local, national and out of India"
  • Shipping Costs - 3 options with different pricing, both for international and national per listing COD - COD must be specified as the sum of the Shipping Cost and Surcharge. In Baazee, one could specify it as a surcharge. This is not available on eBay.
  • Sales Tax - Field where sales tax %age can be included. - Not available on Baazee
  • Returns Policy 1. Can specify duration of 7, 14 and 30 days 2. Option for refund - Exchange, Merchandise Credit, Money Back
  • Warranty 1. Dealer 2. Manufacturer 3. Replacement - Same as on Baazee
  • Payment Instructions - Free text field where sellers can give any payment instructions or shipping discounts for additional items.

Changes in the Format Types

  • Auction - same as on Baazee
  • Buy it Now - Includes "buy it now auctions" and "fixed price". Buy it Now auctions are chargeable
  • Classifieds (chargeable)- same as on Baazee
  • Multi Quantity Auction Logic - All winning bidders get the product at the lowest winning bid. eBay fees is calculated on the total value of the no of items sold multiplied by the lowest winning bid in that auction. - Same logic as on Baazee.

Changes in My Baazee - For Buyers

  • Buying Views
    - Bids Winning" can be seen in "Bidding"
    - Bids Losing" also can be seen in "Bidding"
    - Bids Won" is now "Won"
    - Bids Lost" is now "Didn't Win"
    - Items in Shopping Cart" is now not available as the shopping cart feature doesn't exist
    - Items I am Tracking" is now "Watching"

Bidder Management

One of the key issues sellers had pointed out on Baazee was fraud bidding. eBay has the following options by which you can control the bidders who bid on your item

  • Block Bidders - Sellers have the option of making their listings unavailable to a list of bidders. The blocked bidders will receive an error message stating that they are not allowed to bid on that seller's listings.
  • Pre - Approved Bidding - Sellers have the option of restricting their individual listings to a specified group of buyers by creating a pre-approved bidders list.
  • Buyer Requirements - Within the eBay Preferences Link in My Account, sellers can decide to block certain buyers from bidding on their items. Sellers can block buyers from countries to which they don't ship, with negative feedback score or with Unpaid Item Strikes (SNC Warnings)
