Hiring a Trading Assistant - Frequently Asked Questions
What are Trading Assistants?
Trading Assistants are experienced eBay sellers from all over India who have indicated that they are willing to sell your items for you on eBay. Have you been longing to sell your dining room table on eBay, but don't have the time or energy to do so? If so, Trading Assistants can help. Each Trading Assistant has a feedback rating of 50 or greater, has experience selling items on eBay, and has at least 90% positive feedback. Most importantly Trading Assistants have expressed a willingness to sell for you for a fee.

How can I find a Trading Assistant?
You can find a Trading Assistant near you by searching the Trading Assistants Directory. Simply fill in one of three fields: area code, state, or country, then click the associated search box. We will return the first 200 Trading Assistants who match your query. For example, if you live in Mumbai and are looking for a Trading Assistant near you, you would type 206 into the area code field, then click the "Search" button below. We will run the search and return a list of Trading Assistants who are located in the 400 area code.

You can then determine which Trading Assistant you are interested in by clicking on the "Get info" button associated with each Trading Assistant. The "Get info" button will take you to an Assistant information page that displays the member's location, contact information, the language they speak, and a description of their service, policies, and fees.

Why should I hire a Trading Assistant?
Each Trading Assistant is an experienced eBay trader who can help you sell your items. Whether you want to clean out your garage, sell items before a move, or sell something you're not using anymore, a Trading Assistant can help. Search through the Trading Assistants Directory (link to hub page) for a local Trading Assistant - it costs nothing to contact one and get information on what they can do to help you sell your items. It's a great service for people who want to sell items on eBay without taking the time to actually sell items themselves.
What kind of items can I sell with a Trading Assistant?
It depends on the Trading Assistant you hire. Some have expertise in particular categories on eBay and prefer to sell only in categories they have expertise in. Others will sell in any of the thousands of item categories on eBay. Still others may have certain minimums that require you to meet before they will work with you. Check the Trading Assistant description page to review policies for each Trading Assistant.

What are the fees?
There are no eBay fees for hiring a Trading Assistant. The fees are up to you and the Trading Assistant you hire. You should agree on a fee that you will pay the Trading Assistant and the work that will be completed by the Trading Assistant before any work is done.

What are drop-off locations and pick-up services?
All Trading Assistants are available by appointment, but some Trading Assistants offer special services to their clients:
  • Drop-off locations: The Trading Assistant provides staffed locations or stores with regular business hours. You can drop by with your items for sale without having to call ahead or arrange a meeting time.
  • Pick-up services: The Trading Assistant will come to your location to pick up the items you have to sell. This can be convenient if you have many or large items to sell that are difficult to move. Some Trading Assistants are equipped with large vans or trucks.

How do I research a Trading Assistant?
There are several ways to research a Trading Assistant. First, you can check out their eBay feedback (click on the number next to their username in the Trading Assistant description page) to see what previous buyers and sellers have said about them from past transactions. Second, you can review some of their past transactions to see if they have expertise selling in the category you want to sell your item in. Third, you can ask any Trading Assistant to provide references from past clients that have hired them to sell items.

Remember, you should apply the same standards to selecting a Trading Assistant that you do in hiring anyone to perform services for you. Use good judgment and common sense in making your choice. Also, keep in mind that Trading Assistants are not employees or independent contractors of eBay. Nor do we endorse or approve them. Each Trading Assistant runs his or her own independent business free from any involvement by eBay.

Trading Assistants can sell items on eBay for others. Trading Assistants operate independently as eBay sellers, and are not employees, agents or partners of eBay. Trading Assistants are responsible for complying with all eBay policies, and must meet specific requirements to be listed in the Trading Assistants Directory.
