Feedback extortion

What is this policy?
Threatening to leave negative or neutral feedback for another member unless the other member provides goods or services not included in the original listing is not permitted

How does this policy get violated?
When a user threatens/ leaves negative or neutral feedback on another user based on unreasonable grounds the policy is violated

Examples
Feedback Extortion:
  • Even though it didn't reach reserve, sell it to me for my bid or..."
  • "Pay me Rs.5000 or I will..."
  • "Sell me all of the items in the multiple item auction or I will get all of my friends to..."
Not Feedback Extortion
  • "The item is already a day late, if it is not here by tomorrow I will leave you negative feedback."
  • "If I don't receive payment by tomorrow, I will leave negative feedback."
  • "The item isn't as described; if you don't replace it I will leave you negative feedback."
Violations of this policy may result in one or more actions, including:
  • Listing cancellation
  • Limits on account privileges
  • Account suspension
  • Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
  • Loss of PowerSeller status

Why does eBay have this policy?
Feedback is the foundation of trust on eBay. Using eBay feedback in an attempt to extort goods or services from another member undermines the integrity of the feedback system.
