1. Choose the right type of listing for your item You can decide between Auctions or Buy It Now listing. Sell your car or bike through auctions if you are not very certain of its correct market value, or want to get the best price that the market offers. Buy It Now can be used if you are in a hurry to sell the vehicle and are sure of the exact value of the vehicle
- Start Price:
Price your vehicle realistically. Start your listing at a lower start price. This will attract more bids and usually at a higher sell price. However please remember that you are bound to sell the vehicle to the buyer when the auction closes with one or more winning bids or when a user buys on Buy It Now
- Best Offer:
Best Offer is a great feature that gives sellers the ability to close a sale faster . This feature can be selected only if you have opted for Buy It Now as an option. Buyers to make an offer on your car or bike listed with Best Offer and you have the right to accept and close the transaction immediately or reject the offer depending on the price. The best thing is that this feature is free!
- Reserve Price:
Avoid Reserve Prices unless you have good reason to use them. Many bidders will not bid on reserve auctions and you are therefore less likely to sell your item if you use a reserve
- Fees:
No fees for listing and uploading pictures of your vehicle. Final Value Fees of 1% is applied only if your listing closes with a winning bid.
2. Tell it like it is When writing your title, think about what would grab your attention and make you click through to the listing. Since you only have limited space in your title, here are some tips to remember and things to include:
- The Make, Model and Variant ("Honda City EXI"). The year of manufacture (2004)
- Brief description: (Excellent condition, single owner driven)
- Use the information that is most practical and is going to attract the most interest
- Double-check your spelling! Misspelled words cannot be searched properly
- Incase you have selected Best Offer, include the phrase in the title or description and your listing will come up in Best Offer search results.
3. Describe the item thoroughly When you are creating your listing remember that this is your opportunity to successfully sell your item. So market it well! You can include as much information as you like! There is no limit so to avoid questions later, anticipate the buyers' needs here. As a minimum, include the following :
- Make, Model and Variant ("Honda City EXI")
- Year of manufacture ("'2004")
- Chassis Number ("123456789")
- Colour ("New Warm Silver")
- Mileage ("11,000 km")
- Mention whether first owner
- Condition: Make sure you disclose the correct description of the vehicle (accident free, single owner driven)
- Any superficial or structural damage ("scratch on the left backdoor", "dents" etc)
- Features and Accessories ("Power windows", "CD player", "air conditioning" etc)
- State if RC book and service history are available and mention the date and service station of the last service.
- State whether the vehicle is insured, type of insurance and validity (comprehensive, valid to December 2006)
4. Pictures tell a thousand words You will boost sales by displaying your item with pictures.
- Uploading pictures in the Cars & Bikes category is absolutely FREE!
- Put as many pictures as you can displaying the car from various angles.
- Ideally take pictures of as many aspects of the vehicle as possible (all sides, interiors, dashboard and engine).
- Make sure you highlight any defects or prominent features
- You can attach a photograph to your listing in a number of ways
- By taking a digital photograph of it
- By taking a photograph of your item and scanning it

Remember that if you already have your product photographs hosted on the internet, you can simply insert the URL so that it is included in your listing.
5. State payment options clearly
- Specify the payment methods you will accept such as cash, demand draft or cheque.
6. Define your conditions
- Clearly state the terms for collection of the car or if delivery is possible. This will help you close the sale and be paid much faster.
