We have often seen our buyers getting confused when they find their seller is suspended (No Longer A Registered User). Our user Sameer has similar concerns and Manish from eBay Customer Support helped him out. He will like to share his information with other users for their benefit. (Please note that this is only an illustrative example, and is not a LIVE Chat Session)
Sameer: Hi, I have a problem! I had been a winning bidder for 1 item, but the seller is suspended, please advice how do I go about it now?
Manish - CS: Have you made the payment for the item?
Sameer: No, but I m interested to complete the deal
Manish - CS: eBay recommends you not to complete the sale with a suspended member.
Sameer: Why is that so?
Manish - CS: If the seller has become 'not a registered user', whether or not you decide to complete the transaction is at your discretion. However, eBay does not suggest completing a transaction with an unregistered seller because of the potential problems you could run into. If you're unsure about the sale then it would be best if you choose not to complete the sale. If you decide to do this, you may want to email the seller and kindly explain your decision to him or her.
Sameer: Can you tell me why the seller is suspended?
Manish - CS: Unfortunately, I am unable to provide reasons as to why this member is no longer registered; nor can I disclose information about whether they will be back on the site.
Sameer: I have another transaction, where I made the payment, but now the seller is suspended. How shall I go about?
Manish - CS: Ok as you have made the payment I would suggest you contact the seller for the delivery details of the item.
Sameer: I had transacted before 2 weeks and now there is no response. I tried calling the seller also, but again no response.
Manish - CS: As you have paid for the item and not received the same I request you to report the Item Not Received Dispute by going to your "My eBay" and clicking on Dispute Console. Please note that buyers can begin an Item Not Received or Significantly Not As Described dispute between 10 and 60 days after the transaction date.
Sameer: what resolution I will get by doing this?
Manish - CS: Disputes over items not received or received but significantly not as described can usually be resolved by direct communication between buyers and sellers. To help resolve the dispute, eBay provides an online process where buyers and sellers can communicate with each other.
Sameer: But seller is not responding and I need my money back
Manish - CS: eBay's Standard Purchase Protection Program reimburses buyers for eligible transactions where an item was purchased on eBay and either not received or was received but significantly not as described. If the payment has been made through PaisaPay you may be reimbursed up to a maximum of Rs.50,000 (less Rs.50 to cover processing costs). If the payment has been made through other payment methods you may be reimbursed up to a maximum of Rs.10,000 (less Rs.50 to cover processing costs).
Sameer: Thanks, I think this helps
Manish - CS: No problem. Do ensure you follow all timelines mentioned above.
