How long have you been using the eBay Site and what do you use it for? How did you first hear about the eBay Site?
I have been selling on eBay since Sept 2004. I came across eBay in a magazine advertisement.
I started selling few of my old computer parts, and was not sure about the response. However, after few sales, I got hopes in online market.
I also use eBay to compare prices of computer peripherals at online and local market. Prices at eBay are often more affordable!
What is the main category on the eBay site in which your items are bought or sold? What is the most unique item you have bought or sold on eBay? Which purchase/sale has made you very happy?
I mostly sell Computer related items, though I have also sold data cables and old coins. The best thing is that I have received orders from almost all categories I have listed in.
Who is your favorite eBay seller/buyer and why? What has been your best experience at eBay till date?
All smooth transactions make me very happy and all my buyers are special to me. In fact, I have met many buyers from Bangalore, and have made a good circle of friends with them.
We have observed that you often spend time on the Community boards, interacting with users and helping other users with their queries. What attracts you towards the community boards?
I like interacting with other eBay users. Community Boards are the best way to exchange opinions and suggestions with other users, thereby helping us all learn and grow faster.
Do you have a certain strategy that helps you to sell the items?
My only goal is customer satisfaction. I believe that any product with good quality and affordable price will always attract many buyers.
What tips would you give to people out there who are selling or buying their items on the eBay Site?
For Sellers – I suggest to be honest and prompt in your dealings. Have faith in buyers, especially on new buyers and provide them a good trading experience on eBay.
For Buyers – Ask seller question to clarify all your doubts and only then commit to buy. This will hep in completing the transaction smoothly.
Do you think your feedback rating on the eBay Site has improved your reputation as a buyer or a seller?
Yes, Feedback system has really helped me, as it gets me recognition from buyers and helps in increasing sales.
The feedback system is the best way to know a member's reputation, inform other users about a member, and find genuine sellers/buyers.
What eBay feature or service would you say has been the most helpful to you and why?
Ebay has given us a nice platform with advanced features. Turbo Lister, eBay toolbar, My Message and Community Boards are some of my favourites.
What advice would you give others about using the Community boards?
I suggest every user to use community boards often. This is the only place where the entire eBay family can come together and share opinions. eBay has given us a nice platform, and it is our responsibility to share our ideas and suggestions to improve eBay.
