Does it cost anything to join?
No. There is no cost to join the program.
How do I qualify?
Every month, eBay calculates member sales data and identifies those who are eligible to be invited to the PowerSeller program. To qualify, members must:
  • Uphold the eBay community values, including honesty, timeliness and mutual respect

  • Average a minimum of Rs.140,000 in sales annually, for three consecutive months

  • Achieve an overall Feedback rating of 100, of which 98% or more is positive

  • Have been an active member for 90 days

  • Have an account in good financial standing

  • Maintain a minimum of 100 transactions annually

  • A 12 month average DSR of 4.5

  • Comply with all eBay listing and marketplace policies

  • Rates of 1s or 2s on DSR

    • Item as Described - 1 %

    • Communication - 2 %

    • Ship Time - 2%

    • S&H - 2%

    • Buyer Basis - Global

I've tried to register for the Power Seller program but I'm told I'm not qualified. What do I do?
eBay will send email invitations each month to qualified members. Please check your email. If you haven't received any email invitation, most likely you haven't met the program criteria. However, if you did receive the email but get a "you are not qualified" message, please try again. If the site continues to reject your registration, please contact us.
The Power Seller program in India isn't as good as the U.S. program. Can I join the U.S. program instead?
Each local country Power Seller program has been designed to provide the most relevant benefits to sellers. Because many of the U.S. benefits require U.S. residency, you are required to join your local country program if one is available. If one is not available for your country, you can be part of the U.S. Power Seller program. However, some benefits may not apply to you due to geographic restrictions.
The country where I live does not have an eBay site. Can I join the program?
Yes, you can join the U.S. program. However, some benefits may not apply to you due to geographic restrictions. If and when your country has its own Power Seller Program, you will be automatically transferred to that program.
How do I maintain my current Power Seller level?
PowerSeller program eligibility is reviewed every month. To remain PowerSellers, members must:
  • Uphold eBay community values, including honesty, timeliness, and mutual respect

  • Maintain the minimum average monthly sales amount for your PowerSeller level

  • Maintain a 98% positive total feedback rating

  • Maintain an account in good financial standing

  • Comply with all eBay listing and marketplace policies

    Failure to comply with these requirements will result in the removal of a member's PowerSeller status.

How do I move up to the next Power Seller level?
To move up to the next level, you must:
  • Reach and maintain the next level minimum gross monthly sales;

  • Comply with all of the other program criteria.

What happens if I don't maintain the criteria for my current level?
If your account falls below the program criteria, you will receive an alert email. You will then have 30 days to bring your account back into compliance. If, after the 30-day grace period, you do still not meet the criteria, your account will be automatically disqualified from the Power Seller program and we will notify you as such.

If you meet the criteria again at a later stage, you can rejoin the Power Seller program. However, if you violate the Shill Bidding policy or if you reach your limit of policy violations (see Question #9) within a 60-day period, you will lose your PowerSeller status. To regain your PowerSeller status, you must comply with eBay listing and marketplace policies over the next 60 days, and maintain compliance.

What does "A Power Seller in good standing" mean?
As a Power Seller, you are a pillar of the eBay community. Therefore, you must uphold a high level of professionalism. You must:
  • Achieve and maintain a minimum feedback rating of 100, 98% of which must be positive

  • Be in good standing by complying with eBay Listing Policies;

  • Keep your eBay account current - no outstanding balance;

  • Deliver responses to successful bidders within three business days;

  • Uphold the eBay CommunityValues, including honesty, timeliness and mutual respect.

How is the 98% positive feedback rating calculated?
The rating is calculated each month by taking the number of Positive feedback responses and dividing them by the total number of Positive and Negative responses.
How do I comply with all eBay listing and marketplace policies?
To comply, you must not violate the Shill Bidding policy. Additionally, violations of any eBay policies may result in the loss of PowerSeller status. The following limits apply:
Can I use the Power Seller logo in my listing description?
Yes, registered Power Sellers can use the Power Seller logo in their eBay listings, About Me page, Shop pages or their primary website outside of eBay. However, if you would like to use the Power Seller logo in your listings or the other places mentioned above, you must agree to have the Power Seller icon displayed next to your feedback score. This will enable other members to identify legitimate Power Sellers easier. Any use of the Power Seller logo must also link to the Power Seller program page. For any questions about your permission to use the Power Seller logo, please contact us.
Can I opt out of having the Power Seller Icon displayed next to my User ID?
Yes, you can opt out by changing your preferences in your My eBay page.
What tools can I use to improve my status?
We strongly recommend you use the following tools:

Where can I get Power Seller merchandise?
Unfortunately, there is no Power Seller merchandise. However, we do offer the FREE downloadable business material templates with eBay Power Seller logo that you can use at local print shops.
What if I am a PowerSeller and do not meet the criteria in October '07?
If you are a PowerSeller in October and do not meet the criteria there will be no action taken on your account. The new criteria will be effective in Nov ’07.
If I receive a warning in November regarding my PowerSeller Status how long do I have to recover my sales?
You will receive one month’s notice before your PowerSeller status is terminated. So in this case you will receive the warning by email in November and your PowerSeller status will be terminated in December.
What are the feature promotions for PowerSellers?
There are some Feature promotions lined up for the next quarter. Watch the announcement boards for updates on the promotions.
When will I receive the PowerSeller packing material?
PowerSeller Packing material is dispatched to all sellers by the 18th of each month. In case you do not receive it you can email us.
Why should I retain my PowerSeller Status?
The PowerSeller Program offers several benefits to sellers that include:

  • PowerSeller Icon near your eBay ID thus building trust amongst buyers

  • Use of PowerSeller logo in your item listings and About Me pages

  • Invitations to eBay events - eg. eBay Academy
