Terms and Conditions- MRP

There are two types of listing on eBay. Buy It Now listings let you pay a fixed-price and buy the item immediately, while Auctions let you bid on an item and try to win it for a lower price. The Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of an item depends on whether the listing falls under either one or combination of these two types.

1. Buy It Now Listing

If you choose to purchase a Buy It Now listing, you acknowledge the MRP displayed reflects the fixed price set by the seller that must be paid in order to buy the item immediately.

If, however, there are deals offered for such listing at the time you wish to purchase it, you acknowledge that the final price you must pay may be different than the MRP displayed. The MRP displayed also does not include customs duties which may need to be paid at time of delivery.

Please refer to our Help pages for more details on how buying works on eBay.

2. Auctions

A seller may offer an item purely as an Auction listing, with or without a Reserve Price.

An item that has been listed by the seller for sale in a purely eBay Auction specifies a Starting Bid and this is indicative of the MRP for this item.

Once bidding has commenced, you will be able to see the price at which other buyers have bid for such item. The Current Bid is the bid that has been submitted by other buyers with reference to the Starting Bid.

If you choose to bid on auction items, you acknowledge the MRP displayed for such items and consent to participate in, and be subject to the rules and policies for, bidding on eBay. You relinquish all claims and other legal actions against us and/or the seller in the event your purchase of an auction item was pursuant to a bid that exceeds the displayed MRP. The MRP displayed also does not include customs duties which may need to be paid at time of delivery.

Please refer to our Help pages for more details on mechanics of bidding for items listed for auction.

3. Combination Buy It Now Listing/ Auction

A seller may offer an item for sale as a Buy It Now listing and simultaneously offer it for bidding as an Auction listing, with or without a Reserve Price.

The MRP is the fixed price indicated by the seller that must be paid in order to buy the item immediately. The Starting Bid is the price at which the seller is offering the item for auction. Once bidding has commenced, you will be able to see the price at which another buyer has bid for such item. The Current Bid is the latest bid that has been submitted by another buyer with reference and/ or subsequent to the Starting Bid.

The MRP may be different from the Starting Bid and the Current Bid.

If you choose to purchase an item that is offered as both Auction item and a Buy It Now listing, you acknowledge the MRP displayed for such item reflects the fixed price set by the seller that must be paid in order to buy the item now. You acknowledge the MRP displayed and consent to participate in, and be subject to the rules and policies for, bidding and buying on eBay. You relinquish all claims and other legal actions against us and/or the seller in the event your purchase of the item was pursuant to a bid that exceeds the displayed MRP. The MRP displayed also does not include customs duties which may need to be paid at time of delivery.
