Online Media Centre - India's leading online marketplace - was acquired by eBay Inc. - The World's Online Marketplace.
January 31, 2005 is now a 100% subsidiary of As you are aware, is a transparent online marketplace, which offers buyers and sellers an opportunity to interact, trade products and services and give feedback to each other. Like our parent company, the World's Online Marketplace®, we provide a platform for the sale of goods and services by a diverse community of individuals and small businesses.

With eBay having a presence in 32 countries and therefore being the world's largest ecommerce player, there is a wealth of learnings and best practices across the various country sites in terms of tools and product features. Over the last six months since we became a part of eBay, we have steadily been working on adapting eBay's global best practices and improving the Baazee experience for Indian users.

To ensure a good user experience on the Baazee site while we integrate global best practices, we planned a 5 stage integration process. This process of integrating the Baazee site with the eBay platform is standard practice that eBay has followed with all its acquisitions, including the recent one with China.

To this end, we are working towards improvements to our site and introducing new features and tools for Indian users to help users grow their businesses. All of these changes involve global features and tools being incorporated in the Baazee site to enable all users to have a uniform user experience across the eBay sites worldwide.

The first stage of integration with the eBay platform was announced to Baazee users in November 2004 and the changes came into effect on December 1, 2004. There have also been two more stages of integration on January 4, 2005 and February 1, 2005. A detailed list of the changes in the 3 phases are listed on the Baazee website We will send you additional updates in the coming months.

We are extremely appreciative of the support our user community has shown towards us during these stages of integration and we intend to continue to work closely with them as we jointly move towards becoming a part of the eBay community worldwide.

Both Baazee and eBay are fully committed to India and to growing the ecommerce marketplace here.
