Mumbai, May 24, 2011:The exclusive charity auction on eBay India, India’s leading eCommerce marketplace, for the Signature Volkswagen Passat has successfully closed at Rs. 30,13,000 (Rupees Thirty Lac and Thirteen Thousand). The 10 day auction started on May 3, 2011 and ended on May 10, 2011.
The auction to win the Signature T20 Volkswagen Passat saw 26 bids from across India as well as 17,118 visitors. The exclusive charity auction was won by cricket enthusiast Mr. Saidas Malladi from Bangalore who will now have the opportunity to drive around in the German luxury car.
The Passat sports signatures of all captains of the T20 teams and will be accompanied with a similarly autographed bat as well. The Volkswagen Passat auction has surpassed the previous milestones of the Rakesh Jhunjhunwala charity auction, Coaching Camp with Sachin Tendulkar & Lunch with Amitabh Bachchan with highest bid records at Rs. Fourteen Lac Two Thousand, Rs. Twelve lac & Rs. Ten lac two thousand respectively.
All the proceeds received from the auction will benefit WWF India, a conservation organization dedicated to building a healthy living planet for future generations by adopting a two-pronged approach to conservation which includes Biodiversity Conservation, and Footprint Reduction.
