All other feature fees, such as home page featured, highlight, secondary category fee etc will remain unchanged.

What is the eligibility criterion for the listing fee credit in case the listing is not sold successfully in the 1st relist instance?
  • You must relist the item within 90 days of the closing date of the original listing.
  • You relist the item by clicking the "relist your item" button on the item page for the ended listing
  • Only the first relisting of an item is eligible. Subsequent relistings of the same item don't qualify.
  • If the relisted item doesn't sell the first time you relist it, we won't credit the Listing Fee.
  • Shop Inventory Format and Multiple Item ("Dutch") auctions do not qualify for credit
  • The starting price you set for the relisted item must not be greater than that of the original listing.
  • If the original listing did not have a reserve price, and you add one to the relisted item, it won't qualify for an Listing Fee credit.
  • If the original listing did have a reserve price, and you increase the reserve price when you relist, it won't qualify for an Listing Fee credit.
Note: We won't credit fees for options such as Bold, Highlight etc. After your relisted item is sold, you'll be charged the applicable Final Value Fee.

What to do if the original listing had a non-paying bidder or the buyer returned the item for a refund?

Before you relist the item, file an Unpaid Item dispute for the original listing and request a Final Value Fee credit when you close the dispute. You can close the dispute after the buyer has responded at least once, or if the buyer does not respond within 7 days.

You have several options to choose from when you close the dispute:

  • "We've agreed not to complete the transaction".
With this option, the buyer does not receive an Unpaid Item Strike. You'll receive a Final Value Fee credit and the item will become eligible for an Listing Fee credit when you relist it.
  • "I no longer wish to communicate with or wait for the buyer".
With this option, the buyer receives an Unpaid Item strike. You'll receive a Final Value Fee credit, and the item will become eligible for an Listing Fee credit when you relist it.
  • "We've completed the transaction and we're both satisfied".
You should only choose this option if the buyer has paid for the item because you won't get a credit.

Wait until we've credited the Final Value Fee to your account before you relist the item.

If you are having problems with non-paying bidders: You can block specific members or members with low feedback from bidding on your items.

What is the process for claiming Listing Fee credits?
You don't have to apply for or request the Listing Fee credit. As long as your relisted item fulfils the criteria below, the Listing Fee will be automatically credited to your seller account as soon as the relisted item is sold.

How do I manage my business to accommodate the changes?
As a seller, how shall I adjust my business plan to accommodate the changes? We understand that our sellers in the Mobiles and Accessories category will need to make changes to their business plan to accommodate the above mentioned changes. To understand the impact of the above changes on your business, we will encourage you to check the Managing Your Business Strategy section which can help you understand important metrics that will help you determine your new listing strategy.

We also encourage you to use our Customer Support Resources to understand how this change will impact your business and discuss your options for adjusting your eBay selling strategy to minimize impact to your bottom line.

    Managing Your Business Strategy

To manage and optimize your listing strategy to accommodate the changes, you might find the following information useful.

Total Sales: Total sales are a fundamental indicator of the health of your business, as it is the aggregate measure of performance over a given period of time.

Average Selling Price (ASP): The Average Selling Price (ASP) of all the items you sell is also a critical metric. To calculate your ASP, divide your total sales by total items sold.

Conversion Rate: Conversion rate is the total number of items you've sold divided by the total number of items you've listed. A full understanding of Conversion Rates by format (Auction vs. BIN), product, and price point allows you to offer the right product at the right price. This further ensures that you get the best possible sales volume and profit margins.

For example, if the conversion rate of handsets in the price range of 8000 is greater than that of price range of 14000, you might want to focus more on the 8000 range handsets.

We encourage our sellers to take the following steps to identify the right listings that can help your business grow. 1. Evaluate all your listings in Mobiles and Accessories category and identify all listings that have sold. Ensure that you retain/relist all those items in your listing profile

    2. Identify listings that did not sell and possible reasons for the same. Some possible reasons are
    a. Was the price in line with market price?
    b. Did the listing have gallery item?
    c. Was your description right?

    3. Identify the ones that you think have potential to sell and ensure they are correctly priced and described for sale.

By doing the above, we expect your total sales and conversion rates to improve.
