Shill bidding is when a seller – or someone associated with a seller – bids on that seller's own item. These bids artificially increase the price or desirability of the item, and damage buyers' faith in the integrity and fairness of the marketplace. Shill Bidding is prohibited on eBay.

Rahul is selling his car on eBay. He is worried that his car might sell for less than the amount he hopes for. To ensure that no bidder can win his car for less than the price he has in mind, Rahul uses another eBay account to place bids on his own car, raising the price to the level he feels is 'fair'. Is Rahul's bidding on his own car allowed on eBay?

a. Yes, because Rahul can do whatever he wants with his own property.
b. Yes, because Rahul isn't forcing other members to bid on his car.
c. No, because Rahul's bidding on his own car violates the eBay Shill Bidding Policy.
d. Yes, because Rahul placed the highest bid on his car.
