What is feedback?

Feedback is made up of comments and ratings left by other eBay members from whom you've bought or to whom you've sold. These comments and ratings are valuable indicators of your reputation as a buyer or seller on eBay. There are three types of feedback ratings: positive, neutral and negative. The sum of these feedback ratings are shown as a number in parentheses next to your User ID.

How it works
The feedback system is easy to understand.

  • Each member may affect your score by only one point (positive or negative) however, they may leave you one feedback rating and comment for each transaction they have with you.
  • You receive a feedback star once your feedback score reaches 10 points.

For example, the User ID "Skippy (125)" means that the eBay member with the User ID "Skippy" has received positive feedback from at least 125 other eBay members. It's important to remember that members may only impact another member's score once. So, if you leave a member a positive feedback, their score will increase by one. If you trade with them again and leave them a negative feedback, their score will decrease by one (the positive and negative feedback cancel each other out). If you then trade 3 more times and all three times you leave a positive feedback rating and comment, their score will only increase by 1 point. However, all five feedbacks and comments are visible in their member profile.
