Making sense of your invoice

Invoices are monthly statements of your seller’s account. Invoices summarize your account activity, show you the total amount due, and provide details about the payments, fees, and credits that were applied to your account during the last billing cycle.

Viewing or printing an invoice

We generate an invoice for you once a month if you have more than Rs.25.00 in balance due or if any payments, adjustments, or credits were applied to your account since your last invoice. When your invoice is available for viewing, we’ll notify you by email (either at the beginning of the month or on the 16th, depending on your billing cycle). This email will include your amount due. If the amount due is greater than Rs.25.00, you need to complete the payment by the due date.

You can view any invoice from the last 18 months.

To display an invoice:
  1. Go to My eBay. You may need to sign in.

  2. Click the Account tab.

  3. In the Invoices box, from the Select Invoice drop-down menu, choose the invoice you want to display.

  4. Click Go.

What if I don’t see an invoice for a particular month?

If your account had a balance due of less than Rs.25.00 and no payments, adjustments, or credits were applied, an invoice won’t be generated. However, you can view or download your account activity for the previous four months by going to the Accounts tab of My eBay. Learn more

Downloading invoices

When you download a single invoice, you can choose whether to download the invoice data as an HTML file or comma-separated values (CSV) file. Many applications can open CSV files, making this a useful format for saving invoice data.

To download a single invoice:
  1. Go to My eBay and click the Account tab.

  2. Display the invoice by clicking the “View invoices” link and choosing the invoice from the pull-down menu that appears.

  3. Click the “Download” link in the upper right corner of the invoice.

  4. Select whether you want to download the invoice data in HTML or CSV format. If you select CSV, you can choose whether to download an invoice details file, invoice summary file, or both.

  5. Click the Download button.

Note: If your invoice is large, it might take some time to download. In that case, we’ll email you when it’s ready. When the file is ready, go to My eBay, click the Account tab, and locate the file in the Download Files section.

We can create a CSV file of your invoice once a month, typically one to two days after your invoice is generated. Each CSV file includes both your invoice summary and details.

To save or open a downloaded invoice:
  1. Go to My eBay and click the Account tab.

  2. In the Download Files section, choose the file you want to save or open.

What’s in your invoice

At the top of the invoice, you’ll see the invoice date and other information about your account. Depending on when you created your seller’s account, the invoice date is either the 15th of the month or the last day of the month.

Below your account information, we summarize your account activity for the month, displaying:

  • Total amount from your last invoice

  • Summary of payments and credits applied during the current billing cycle

  • Summary of new fees applied during the current billing cycle

  • A new total amount due

The Invoice Detail section shows you the individual payments, credits, refunds, and new fees that make up the amount due. Here are the sections that can appear in your invoice:

Invoice Detail section

Payments & Credits section

Payment and refunds

Payments you made or refunds issued by us, such as a refund for overpayment.

Transaction Fee Credits

Credits for specific items that you listed or sold, such as Final Value Fee credits or Insertion Fee promotional credits.

Credits

Any miscellaneous credits you received.

New fees

Transaction Fees

Item fees, such Insertion, Final Value, and listing upgrade fees.

When a promotion reduces the price of a fee, we display the fee’s reduced price. Discounts that are calculated at the time of invoicing appear as a separate line item.

Monthly & One-Time Fees

Fees for monthly subscriptions or other fees that are applied once a month, including eBay Shop subscriptions, seller tool subscriptions, late fees, and declined payment fees.

When a promotion reduces the price of a fee, we display the fee’s reduced price.

Depending on your account activity for the month, you might not see all of these sections in your invoice. For example, if you don’t have any subscriptions or other monthly charges, you won’t see the Monthly & One-Time Fees section.

Why the amount due can differ from the amount charged

Sometimes, there can be a slight difference between the amount due shown on your invoice and the amount that’s charged to you. That’s because there’s a lapse of a few days between the time your invoice is calculated and the time the payment is processed. During this time, we any recent credits that occur to your account, such as payments and item-based credits, but we don’t include any new charges. Those new charges will appear in your next billing cycle.

Also, your account balance can appear to be off by one or few paise when compared to a manual calculation of your invoice line items. This is because we round off final value fees, which sometimes contain a fraction of a rupee. Learn more about how Final Value fees are calculated.
