Contacting your buyer

Once your listing is over, you’ll need to contact your winning bidder or Buy It Now buyer. If you're using Checkout or if the buyer paid with PaisaPay, you and the buyer will receive confirmation emails. The buyer's email address will be provided in the email announcing the end of your listing. In the PaisaPay confirmation email, you will also be able to see the buyer’s shipping address.

Obtain the buyer’s shipping address.

Inform the buyer:

  • Shipping cost

  • How you will ship the item to them

  • When to expect it and a shipping tracking number if you have it

  • Which payment options you accept

  • The total price

  • Tax (if applicable)

Receiving payment

Always verify payment before shipping items (including holding cheques until they are clear). If you accept PaisaPay payments, you will receive confirmations about the payment status. If you have offered PaisaPay COD option, you will receive transaction status.

PaisaPay will always confirm the buyer’s online payment before advising you to ship. With PaisaPay, the buyer’s payment is credited to your PaisaPay account as soon as the buyer confirms that you have delivered the item. Your PaisaPay account balance is then transferred online to your registered bank account (see Selling with PaisaPay)

If you are eligible for Express Remittance* the money will be transferred to your bank account after you enter the shipping details.

Shipping the item for PaisaPay transactions

Review which shipping options shipping services fit your shipping needs.

Ship with a tracking number and offer insurance. Email the tracking number to the buyer so they can track the item. This procedure can help resolve disputes if a buyer claims to have never received an item or to have received a broken item (see Shipping Concerns).

For PaisaPay transactions, you must always enter shipping details in your PaisaPay Account in My eBay after shipping the item. If you do not provide shipping details, the buyer’s payment will be refunded or transaction will stand cancelled.

For PaisaPay COD transactions, ensure to see who the assigned courier/ logistic partner company is and ship the item only through assigned courier/ logistic partner company. Once the item is delivered the courier agent will collect the transaction amount in Indian Rupees upon delivery and confirm the same to PaisaPay.

Leaving feedback

  • Leaving feedback after your listing is over is an important part of participating in the eBay community. This is your chance to let other eBay members know what it was like to do business with your buyer.

  • The feedback system gives everyone an incentive to be honest, timely, and fair. And it helps both buyers and sellers make decisions about who to do business with.

  • You can leave feedback using My eBay, or leave feedback at eBay's Feedback Forum.
