What's an unpaid item?
If a seller doesn't receive payment for an item, the seller can open an unpaid item case with the buyer. Remember that you commit to pay when you buy or bid successfully on an item.
As a buyer, you have seven days to respond to an unpaid item case involving you. If you don’t respond or you’re unable to reach an agreement with the seller, the seller can close the case and eBay can record an unpaid item to your account.
Repeated unpaid items can result in limits or loss of buying privileges.

Responding to an unpaid item case
To avoid an unpaid item, it's important to respond within 7 days to any case with you. Here's how to respond to an unpaid item case:
You receive an email from eBay describing the case.
Read about the issue and click Take action.
Respond to the seller and if required, keep communicating with your seller until you’ve reached an agreement.
To keep track of cases open involving you, go to the Resolution Centre and view the case details.
Removing an unpaid item recorded on your account
If you receive an unpaid item recorded on your account and you feel the judgment is unfair, you can ask the seller to have it removed or appeal it through eBay with proof of payment.
