Customising My eBay

My eBay is designed with sections of information called views. Views can contain your Selling Reminders, Items I'm Watching List, recent Feedback, seller preferences, and many other types of information. You can customise these views to suit the way you trade. Different views have different customisation options. The following customisation tools apply to all of eBay.

You can:

Note: My eBay saves the customisation changes you make, but you can always change back or make additional changes whenever you want.

Changing the order of views

You can change the vertical order of your views. For example, on the All Buying page, you can move the Buying Reminder view to the top of the page, and you can move the Items I’m Watching view to the bottom of the page.

To move the view up or down on the page, click the up arrow button and the down arrow button located at the upper right corner of the view.

Changing the columns of information in a view

You can decide which columns of information you want to add and remove from a view.

To add or remove a column of information in a view:
  1. Click the "Customise" link for the view you want to modify.

  2. To add a column of information to the view, from the Available Columns list, select a column, and click the right arrow button to move it to the Columns to Display list.

  3. To remove a column of information from the view, from the Columns to Display list, select a column and click the left arrow button to move it to the Available Columns list.

  4. (Optional) To change the order of columns, select the column you want to move, and click the up arrow button or click the down arrow button .

  5. Click the Save button.

Tip: To return the visible columns and their order to the default configuration set by eBay, click the “Restore Defauts” link.

Removing views

You can click the close window button located at the upper right corner of a view to remove the view from the page. To display the view again, click the "Customise" link at the top of the page and use the controls to add the view back.

Adding notes to items in a view

Many My eBay views let you add personal notes to items, which helps you track and organise items you are watching, bidding on, or selling. Learn more about how to add notes to items.

Changing the number of items in a view

You can set the number of items you’d like to see in a particular view.

Note: You can display a maximum of 25 items per view on the My Summary page. On other pages in My eBay, you can display up to 200 items.

To change the number of items in a view:
  1. Click the “Customise Display” link in the upper right corner of the view.

  2. From the Number of items to display pull-down menu in each view, select the number of items you want to display in that view.

  3. Click the Save button.

Viewing each item title in its own row

If you choose to see many columns in your views, you may find your display becoming crowded, making the information harder to read. You can customise the view to show each item title by itself in one row.

To view each item title in its own row:
  1. From a view, click the "Customise" link in the upper right corner of the view.

  2. Select the "Item title in its own row" check box.

  3. Click the Save button. The item title displays by itself on one row.

Sorting items in a view

You may want to see your items in a certain order. For example, you may want to see the items you're selling in order of current price, or you may want to see the items you've bid on in order of when their listings will end.

To sort items, look at the labels (or column headers) at the top of each column in any view that contains items. Depending on the view, you may see labels such as Current Price, # of Bidders, End Date, Time Left, Quantity, and others. The label that is used to sort the results is shaded a darker gray.

To sort by a different label, click on the label (the column header). The first time you click on a label, the list sorts in ascending order (least to most, or soonest to furthest away in time). The second time you click, the list sorts in descending order (most to least, or furthest away in time to soonest).

Filtering items in a view

You can narrow your view by filtering the items in your view. Under the title of many views, there is a set of links like Show: All | Winning (4) | Not Winning (2). To narrow the displayed list of items, click on one of the links.

Removing items from views

You can remove an item from a view at any time.

To remove an item from a view, select the check box next to the item you want to remove, and click the Remove button.

Note: If you accidentally remove items that you actually wanted to keep, you can retrieve those items.

Choosing more customisation options

My eBay includes additional customisation options for choosing:

  • Which view of My eBay to display first

  • My eBay time format

  • Whether or not to display Help text within My eBay

To access these options, from the left column of My eBay, click the “Preferences” link under My Account then under General Preferences, click the “Show” link under My eBay.
