Updating Your Registration Information

When you registered with eBay, you provided some basic information, such as your address and phone number. To use eBay, it's important to keep this information accurate and up-to-date. If that the information changes, you don't need to register again.

From My eBay, you can change the following information contact information:

  • Registered name, address (includes payment and shipping addresses), and telephone

    Note: Telephone numbers may not be a fax, pager, or disconnected number.

  • Email address – You will need access to the updated email address to complete the process. You don’t need to register with eBay again, just update your email address, and your other account information and member profile (including feedback) retained.

    Important: If you register again with a new email address, information associated with your old email address could be lost.

To change your contact information:

  1. Click My eBay at the top of most eBay pages.

  2. From the left column of My eBay, under My Account, click the “Personal Information” link (see arrow A in the screen below). The Personal Information page displays.

  3. On the right side of the page, click the “Edit” or “Add” link next to the information you want to update (see arrow B in the screen below).

  4. Change any information, as needed, and click the Save button.

Important: Email addresses that automatically forward to another email address may invalidate the digital signature that eBay places on every email it sends to you. Some email providers interpret an invalid signature as a spoof (fake) email and block these messages or deliver them to your junk mail folder. To prevent this from happening, keep your final destination email address on file with eBay.
