CASH ON DELIVERY
Seller Guide: What’s changing?
eBay wants to ensure that the marketplace offers buyers an array of safe, appropriate, and convenient payment choices for the marketplace.
COD is gaining momentum. In a bid to deliver superior experience to our website users, we encourage Power Ship Sellers to mandatorily offer COD as a payment option on all listings under COD eligible categories. There for this process will be automated. In case seller does not want to offer COD for a specific listing, seller may reach out to eBay. eBay may at its discretion allow or disallow such request.
Above all, this may enable you as a PowerShip seller to scale your business on eBay.
Seller Impact
What’s changing in the Sell Your Item Flow?
- If you’re a part of the PowerShip program and have an eligible category, COD will be mandated in the listing flow as a payment method. The PaisaPay COD checkbox will be automatically checked for eligible sellers and categories.
- COD shipping method will not be available as an option anymore - you will only need to specify courier services (Flat Rate or National/Local) in Sell Your Item.
- Cash on Delivery will not appear as an available shipping method in Sell Your Item. In case it does for specific seller tools for a limited period post March 18th 2014 as we transition to the new system, it will be automatically dropped with a warning message. This will apply for ‘List’, ‘Relist’, ‘Revise’, ‘Sell Similar’, and ‘Sell Another’ flows.
- However, for listings that offered COD prior to March 17th 2014 and are not revised/edited/renewed the Shipping Cost mentioned will continue to be considered and charged to the buyer. More details on transition of these listings here. https://pages.ebay.in/cod/cod-listing-transfer.html
- PaisaPay COD will be auto selected for eligible sellers and auto unchecked for ineligible sellers in Sell Your Item. For other tools, validations will kick in to ensure that you support the change with necessary actions when listing an item.
- This will also be applicable to all tools (SYI web flow, BEAR (SMPRO), Turbo Lister, File Exchange & Trading APIS) and will also be applicable to the shipping policies associated with them.
Business policy changes
- If you are eligible for Cash On Delivery and you have a payment policy, then you have to ensure that PaisaPay COD is added to your existing or new policies.
- If you are using a COD shipping policy, it will be automatically dropped.
