1. What are the changes in the eBay Buyer Protection program?

Since June 7, 2007, the eBay Buyer Protection program is based on the site the transaction takes place and not according to the site of registration of the buyer. On sites like US, UK, Canada, Australia, Buyer Protection is only applicable when the payment is made to the seller using PayPal. For payments made using methods other than PayPal, users need to contact the payment service provider in case they need buyer protection. For more information of the same, please click here .

 
2. Why is eBay asking me to add the "Be Protected" banner in my ILF listings?
Many ILF listings on India site are targeted at buyers from countries like US, Canada etc and often Indian sellers prefer to receive payment via PaisaPay. If international buyers are aware of the protection offered by PaisaPay, it will result in increased confidence and might result in greater transactions for you.
 
3. Are there any changes in the eBay Buyer Protection program on www.ebay.in?
No, all transactions that take place on eBay India, will be covered till Rs. 50,000 for PaisaPay mode of payment and Rs.10,000 for other payment methods
 
4. Is it mandatory to include the 'Be Protected' banner in all items listed with International Listings Fee?
No, it is not mandatory to include the banner. However we will strongly recommend you include it in all ILF listings, as it may help you build confidence in your buyer's mind leading to successful transactions.
 
5. Is the 'Be Protected' banner necessary if I also accept other payment methods, like PayPal, from international buyers?
Yes, it is highly recommended to include the banner for your items with ILF.
 
6. Do I need to include the banner in items I am listing directly on the eBay US or other international sites?
No, since you would not be able to offer PaisaPay on the items listed on sites other than www.ebay.in, you may not include the banner in the listings made on other eBay sites.
 
7. Can I include the banner in the items I list on www.ebay.in ?
Yes, however it is not required if the item is listed without ILF.
 
8. How do I include the 'Be Protected' banner in my listing?
To include the "Be Protected" banner in your listing description, you need to copy the following HTML code and paste it in the Description section of the Sell Your Item form
